A Prayer for Our Enemies

September 11th, 2010 marks a day of 9-11 as you know -- more than 3 thousand lives were taken that day... to those who grieve in the loss of loved ones - my condolences; to those who grieve in the having to watch & hear in fright of this terrible & devastating event - I can't even begin to imagine & I'm sorry; to lose who were stranded away from your families & homes for a week while waiting for air traffic to begin again - you are mighty warriors to endure that adventure with yet another day not knowing when you'd be free. To all the firemen, police officers, military & others who worked hard because of this tragedy - THANK YOU. To all those who suffer today with long infections & other health problems because of this - I certainly hope you are able to live OK. And least we forget ALL those who bravely died in the of duty - firemen everywhere - WE LOVE YOU!

Why evil sets out to hurt - is far beyond my understanding. And perhaps I'll never completely understand but one thing I do understand is this... YOU who have done this to America - Have made us STRONGER, more COURAGEOUS, more UNITED! And UNITED we shall not fall. There is a prayer I read today -- it speaks from the heart:.

"Lord Jesus Christ, Who commands us to love our enemies, and those who defame and injure us, and to pray for them and forgive them; Who also prayed for Your enemies, who crucified you: grant us, we pray, the spirit of Christian reconciliation and meekness, that we may heartily forgive every injury and be reconciled with our enemies. Grant us to overcome the malevolence and offences of people with Christian meekness and true love of our neighbor. O Lord, grant to our enemies true peace and forgiveness of sins; and do not allow them to leave this life without true faith and sincere conversion. And help us repay evil with goodness, and to remain safe from the temptations of the devil and from all the perils which threaten us, in the form of visible and invisible enemies. Amen."

Thanks & God Bless,

Inspiring Words By Pastor Robert Furrow

As you may have figured, I once lived in Tucson, Arizona.  Yes, a beautiful place indeed!  One day I'll need to post lots of photos from there as I do have many to scan in for all to see :-)  However, that's another time when time allows.   It's been a bit busy here as a single household & priorites make their way.

So, what are may priorities?  A question I'm proud to answer with one word, "Jesus."   Jesus is my TOP priority!  For without HIM -- I am nothing!  Which brings me back to Tucson, AZ;  while living there for ten years, I'd met a fellow whoes name is John while attending a 12-Step Mtgs.  John was a faithful Christian, kind hearted & willing to help me out.  He took the time to listen as I spoke of the church I'd attended in Minnesota before moving here.  How I felt an empty hole inside -- felt like I was backsliding because I had now been in Tucson for a few years but had not yet attended a church there.   I told him how bad I get panic attacks when I go into a new enviroment alone.   ANY place new!  Why?  I can't really explain except I learned it stems from fear.

John (and many others I knew) were attending "Calvary Chapel Tucson."  He told me it's a very friendly & Bible oriented church that met in an old shopping center.  Nothing like I'd been to before.  John invited me to attend one Sunday & told me that I would not only love the atmospere but also the Contempory music & for sure like Pastor Robert's way of teaching.
Needless to say, I went the following Sunday with him and another friend.  My experience there was AWESOME!  I fell in love with the place, people, music and totally understood Pastor Robert.   I've been listening to him ever since.  VERY GRATEFUL that Calvary Chapel Tucson is broadcasted over television & internet!!!   If they weren't - I'd be missing one heck of a guy & Bible Study because I've since moved back to Minnesota to help my mom out.

Here's from Pastor Robert Furrow's "It's A New Day Blog"

- Friday, September 10th is titled "Little Pilgram"  referring to backsliding ~  ENJOY!
