Pray for Me...Pray for Others 07/29/2009

Pray for MeWe participate in "Pray for Me... Pray for Others" on the Riggs Family Blog. Check out their blog to add your prayer request. Join a community of friends who care about you, and hope you will care about them.

This week I'm asking for a simple prayer for me ~ Would you please pray for peace & calmness of my mind. It's been a bit chaotic & stressful with all God CHOOSE for me to do and things have been a bit difficult to LEARN. That's right, I've taken a few steps forward & risks in the world to LEARN some new things in many areas [mostly the Computer - Bible - Orphans] so that I can continue to reach out, help, support and make a difference in this Beautiful world God Created for US and WE have really messed up along the way... WE are responsible for cleaning up OUR messes. So with that please SEE many of the prayers I've listed below.

First please Pray for all the Lil ones out there who are suffering so terrible from lack COMPASSION, WATER, NUTRITION & LOVE. There are so many Children dieing DAILY it's hard to even comprehend... things many of us take for granted DAILY! To start out here's a Video of Reality...

And so many of God's children are in desperate need for LOVE! Please pray that WE would look in OUR hearts of adopting &/or supporting a family the means to adopt through show Hope. BUT it doesn't stop there! Not only did Steven Curtis & Mary Beth Chapman along with their many children start show Hope, they've recently OPENED Maria's Big House of Hope [SEE my top header words?] in China as to give many Children in need HOPE! Please do watch the video and then check out their sites.

Become a Sponsor Today! from Show Hope on Vimeo.

Here's a great OPPORTUNITY for US to give a child HOPE through Compassion. They ask this of US... "Please pray for our development cntr workers in Burkina Faso, that the Lord grants them energy & strength as they minister to the children."
Michael W. Smith - Compassion - Sponsor a Child

CompassionArt is a spot where you can buy a CD/DVD that was created by a number of musicians who are FULL of Compassion. The music is AWESOME [I have it] & ALL the sales go toward those struggling in Poverty. Please Pray for people to become aware of this site & find the means to buy or spread the word.

Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!
Shane Board is a singer/songwriter/actor who works hard to raise money with his talents God gave him. In turn he gives 100% to find a CURE for DIABETES. He could really use sponsors & prayers to get his album out to the world. [This year I witness my Aunt die because of this disease & it not only happens to Adults! I even had this deadly disease, it's NOT fun!]

The Good Lord, Jesus Christ, has given US the means to have a way of LIFE; whether it be computer, phone, travel... won't you please give so His children will also have LIFE???

How can WE give? So often we hear ourselves say, "I can't afford to give."

Did you know there's a FREE, SIMPLE , QUICK way to give??? It's through PRAYER and being HIS hands and feet! Do you believe in Jesus??? He DIED on the cross to give US a FREE life in Eternity???

We can Spread the Word to the non-believers. We can volunteer to help a local, community, state, national or even international event. We can REACH OUT to our neighbor with a plate of food. [I'm tickled pink when someone invites me over for a meal!] WE as an individuals can put OUR heads & hearts together in UNITY and give HOPE to HIS PEOPLE one at a time!

For ONLY dimes a day WE can sponsor...
[that's much less than 1 cup of coffee, soda to drink and certainly less than a meal out or an "extra" trip to SEE a place.

Most of all I pray that YOU
find true peace and happiness FROM within

May you have a blessed day :-)

Favorite Kids Photo Blog Hop

Hello and thanks for stopping... please do comment so I can find YOUR blog! First let me inform you it's been ABSOLUTELY crazy around here! Not only did I get my PC back from repair but I had to LEARN a whole new browser AND the PC isn't recognizing the 4-1 so scanning photos in for a blog hop is impossible! ha However, never fear, I took pics of old photos, figured out how to get them over here from Picasa THANKS to Brent Riggs Demo Site!

So here it is 1722 on Tuesday & just now getting this ready to post! Well that's not too bad since we aren't suppose to post until AFTER midnight on Tuesday anyway. LOL

Now granted these photos are NOT the BEST - I'm using old ones, taking a picture & quickly inserting not using all the "Glamor Touch Up" that I normally would on photos! Either way they're here! :-)

[Had a paragraph here but don't know how to explain it adequately, just know there's tons more photos in boxes not yet in pc].

Long story short; I've been in a few different living situations! [Just being honest] and each one has brought me a child or two to LOVE [& hurt over when things end]. Anyway, enjoy!

This first one is my then husband with his daughter. Nap time! :-)

And here she's school age :-)

And she was OUR Flower Girl in OUR wedding. :-)

After Jerry & I divorced... I moved even further North [just a few blks before Canadian border] & became a "Nanny" for two boys.
I suppose God was saying if you think Heather was FUN try this for an adventure! Because that is exactly what happened! We had a BLAST!
Bradley the youngest was just 2 when I met him [their mother died during the delivery & their father was working out of town during the week] He was my favorite lil rascal. And indeed he was a RASCAL! LOL One day I was looking all over for him... low & behold he'd climbed to the TOP of a Norway Pine! uffda Never fear though, you could ALWAYS find a SMILE on this boys face! Unless getting stitches in ER, another uffda!

My Grandparents owned a resort so when we traveled south to visit my parents, we'd also head out to the lake. :-)

Bedtime snack time....

Yes, Minnesota reached record HIGHS of 100 this year so not to moan & groan WE had some water FUN! :-)

But then summer was over & time for school. Travis's FIRST day EVER! And Bradley didn't want his "life long pal" [older brother of 3 yrs] leaving for the day! Infact, he wasn't going to have it! LOL Which disappointed Travis as those 2 were "two peas in a pod". I'm not sure what kind of dance Travis was about to do either.

So Travis took his lil brother's hand & off they went but not without Bradley's backpack mind you :-)

The BIG bus was a NEW adventure for Travis and he did quite well... infact, I believe he was excited!!!

Like most things time flys too quick & Christmas was here! My parents decided to join us which whom the boys loved so they dressed extra special & were waiting for them to arrive!

Now that "grandma & grandpa" arrived they downed the Santa hats & we all had a wonderful time.

And there's just a sample of my life... TONS more photos of all 3 of these lil ones who are by no means lil anymore! Ha Heather had a daughter in 1999 & Travis has graduated! :-)

From here I moved to back to G.R., the Twin Cities then to Tucson, AZ which is whole another life & two more lil boys who are also not lil anymore! :-)

Good 'Morning/Afternoon/Evening' [whenever you stopped by] :-)
I've come by to add a new link to my list
ETHOS:RANDY ELROD [check him out... his site is pretty kewl AND there's even a short survey that he'd love for you to fill out which will help his next writing] and noticed I've got several more to add... some to edit...

Please
forgive me for not updating this blog frequently and especially for not 'blog hopping' to your blog! Life went from 'stand still' to 'run' in a matter of seconds as soon as my PC came back from the shop. Which btw... THANK GOD for good people & old friends that I've just recently met as I'd mentioned in an early post! My new computer geek repair dude is AWESOME!!! This PC is faster than a speed of light & like brand new [even though a year old].

I picked it up from the shop Sunday Evening before going to bed and by Monday morning I was already using it for a Newsletter I'm doing this summer for the church I attend here. Needless to say, it took MANY hours of my time [NOT COMPLAINING] and absoluetly loved doing it not only to serve the Lord Our God but also to serve the community & myself. I gained much knowledge in regards to the New MS Office Word, Word Perfect, PDF and some office machines I'd never used before!!! I LOVE LEARNING new things that will help others in the long run!

It's been some time since I taught the above mentioned classes so hadn't kept up with the newer versions of them. WOW! is about all I can say! I love 'em!!! Technology sure has come along way just in the last few years!!!

Anyhow, I'm still working on the Newsletter but off the computer part of it now... will be down at the church most of the day today again as the hard copy is ready for print [brought 1st page home with me to do here] and then there's the folding, labeling, sorting and mailing! Oh, and on Fridays I put together the Bulletins for our church services on Sat. & Sun. :-) [that part is part of my CWS which is another story for another day] LOL

I do got to get for now so I leave you with this: I've a daily meditation I read from "Relationship Builders" by Ruth Senter. Todays is pretty good [they all are].

July 24th ~ Jesus always saw people for what they could be, not for what they were. ~
"Jesus answered... 'You are Peter. On this rock I will build My church." Matthew 16:17-18

Now of course I look up Bible versus & read the whole section to get to more then the 'point' of what Ruth had written and on this particular one... Matthew 16:13-20... the verses didn't quite 'sink in' to the her thought for the day but the HEADING for this section of the Bible is "Peter's Confession of Christ" which makes alot more sense! :-)

What do you think? Please do leave me a comment... I will [eventually] get to your site!

Thanks & Have a Super Duper DAY!
May the Lord Bless You,
~Joni

Computer Repair

Just to let you know that this computer will be going in for repair come Tuesday EVENING 07.14.09 for it is beyond a hopeless state of mind... The Windows Installer is "flashing at me" & will not allow me to turn it off. Had this same issue about a month ago but the guy didn't FIX it; only turned it off. Well, early this morning - Monday - I posted a note on facebook asking for EXPERT HELP to Question... wouldn't you know nobody there answered... so I dug deep & started ORGANIZING files upon files & photos upon photos getting ready to transfer onto CDs so I could CLEAN SWEEP the hard drive & BOOT fresh then RE-INSTALL everything again!

Now there IS a God & He IS Good - while doing the above an email flew in from a long time TRUSTED friend wanting to be 'friends' on facebook! Can you guess what's next? ha Yeppirs, he's a CERTIFIED COMPUTER GEEK who moved back to my hometown!:-) Needless to say my PC is headed his way tomorrow evening so.... I'll be w/o my 'profit maker' for a few days!
You all have a wonderful BLOG HOPPING time and rest of the week! See you back next wk.

Blessings,

Thankful Thursday

THANKFUL THURSDAY... I DID IT!!! :-)

Been messing around in Blogger Controls & Disquis and have finally learned how to adjust fonts, colors, size settings, photos & on & on & on! Yes, even a NEW title...! An No, I'm not done yet! Although I am so excited... Hallelujah!!! :-)

Welcome to my NEW followers ~ all FIVE of you :-) Am Thankful you came to visit & decided to stay... well, sorta... lol.

Am Thankful for all who've left comments :-) It's really a pleasure to come here & SEE them!!!

Am Thankful for Brent & Michelle Riggs for sharing the Mcklinky with us all... it's FANTASTIC to be able to "Blog Hop" from one to the next w/o having to get 'lost or side-tracked'. Ha Yes, I can easily lose focus on what I'm doing and end up not returning for quite some time! Often it gets frustrasting at the end of the day when I do my review to find little had been accomplished... NOT to be discouraged though ~ God presents Himself in due time. :-)

Thankful that Jesus Our Savior was died on the cross to save us!

In hopes that I'm able to mark one more things off the list TODAY; I leave with this...

Enjoy your Thursday and May God's Peace, Love & Understanding be with you!

MckLinky Blog Hop

Brent & Michelle Riggs own MckLinky and are the host of the MckLinky Blog Hops. Last week's theme was "introduce yourself" and over 450 bloggers participated on the very FIRST event. This week, it is "favorite photo". If you have an idea for a Blog Hop theme, shoot Brent an email (brent@brentriggs.com). If he use your idea, he'll put you at the top of the Blog Hop link list. Please do see their family site for further information.

This photo was taken at the resort my Grandparents built, owned & operated for many years. I will cherish it forever... Our last Family Reunion was held in 1997 with ALL but one Uncle & one Cousin present. Not in the photo is my dad although he was there somewhere. Since this Family Reunion six of the members have passed on so life has changed drastically!

Blog Hop

This is the beginning of a new community event. Something so we can all "hop from one blog to another reading & getting to know one another. I hope you'll join with us. :-)

This week the theme is INTRODUCE YOUR BLOG

Hey there :-) Welcome to my blog! Here you'll find my lil haven 'journal' of my thoughts, ideas, activities, and even events that are soon to take place in which they help others... especially orphans &/or poverty stricken... I've a heart that reaches out to those in need whether it be shelter, clothing, food, water or TLC. There's been a time or two when I've been down that road and didn't know where or who to turn to. I've spent nights in my car that had no insurance or gas, slept in my camper that I'd inherited but no way of towing it. My struggles or 'set backs' in life have brought me to where I am today... Spiritually based in the midst of Studying the Bible so I may teach others that with God there is HOPE!

P.s. my HOME page is still over on myspace.com Please do check it out :-)

Pray for Me...Pray for Others

Pray for Me... Pray for Others ~ is a wkly blog that was started by Brent and Michelle Riggs to increase the power of prayer thru a community. We each post our own blogs with what we (as individuals) would like others to pray for and also include other(s) we know who may need our prayers. It's a wonderful oppurtunity that gives us the oppurtunity to let others know what to pray for.

If you wish to join this community it's quite simple...
(Please SEE the Riggs Family Blog for Instructions)
I am in the process of learning this blog format all over again and my mind is on overload at this moment). Thank You!

Please pray for Me: that I will continue to walk the path of which God has laid down for me. Some 'events' took place last week that had me discouraged & wanting to give up all HOPE. After talking w/the Pastor at church many things became clearer. Although I don't have much support w/the concluding decisions made, I believe this is what Jesus would have me do... The Bible mentions in great lengths about forgiveness and who I am not to forgive another when Jesus has forgiven them?

Please pray for some dear people I've met through blogland ~ Steven and Mary Beth Chapman and the rest of the Mission Group who left Sunday for China. Steven & Mary Beth had an idea to build a "Care Center/Hospital" for Orphans who need special care in China. The idea became reality and Grand Opening is tomorrow (07.02.09). Please refer to Mary Beth's Blog and show Hope site for details of "Maria's Big House of Hope".

Thanks for stopping by & please do come back again. :-)
